for the funeral of a baltimore city police officer. nadia ramdass has the details of. >> police officer forrest taylor will be laid to rest today. he leaves behind a wife and two children. the veteran died late last week after complications from surgery. the surgery stemmed from an accident he was involved with while on duty. he had been responding to a call with his signal lights on, ran through a red light, and collided with another car. officials are considering it a line of duty death. services for officer taylor are scheduled for later today on 5200 north charles street in north baltimore. visitation begins at 10:00 a.m.. be advised a traffic advisory has been issued due to the funeral service. expect traffic delays on charles street which will be closed. it is expected to be closed until 1:00 p.m. today. nadia ramdass, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you. harford county sheriff's office after a deputy was killed in on duty. he crossed two lanes of traffic and crashed into two trees. investigators were to remove him from the vehicle -- investigators worked to remove him from the vehicle. >> it i
first and race cars take over downtown baltimore. a look at the first full day of the grand prix of baltimore. 11 news saturday morning starts right now. >> you're watching wbal tv-11, live, local, late breaking. this is 11 news saturday morning. >> i'm lisa robinson. >> and i'm jennifer franciotti. we will get to our top stories in a second but we will look oue with john collins. i saw stars and a full moon. >> and scattered clouds, as well, and surprisingly, moisture from isaac is getting closer to us. yesterday it was way to the west in missouri and arkansas and moving into iowa and it was hot yesterday. today, it will be warm, a little more humid and that moisture from that storm will get closer to us. it's showing up on radar now nearby. let's look at our h.d. doppler radar. you can see that out in garrett county we are seeing shower activity and in west virginia, thunderstorm activity going on at this stage of the game. this is all sliding to the east, the initial moisture, not a major part of the forecast today but it is part of the holiday weekend forecast. i'll detail th
of issues well north of baltimore city. we'll start you at emmerton road right at singer road. we do have an accident ongoing and that has tied speeds between 94, to around 35 to 40 miles an hour. so we are starting to see some delays. we do have ambulances, fire department, police activity right along perryman road out at old philadelphia road. we did have an earlier accident still ongoing. and congestion really starting to pick up on 695 at edmondson avenue. you'll notice the speeds tied down between 30 to 40 miles an hour. outside we go for a live shot and we'll show you some of our traffic cameras, 695 at liberty road, starting to see some volume on the outer loop. we have another shot for you the further north section of the beltway, 695 at harford road, starting to see some volume. things are looking pretty normal at this hour. the outer loop from 695 to 83 an 11-minute ride. >>> news time right now 6:31. parents want to know that when their kids, they head to school, they're going to be safe. and right now that is really hard for a lot of parents after a shooting at perry hall high

in baltimore. >> good morning. i am stan stovall. the man convicted of killing a police officer and a car accident will spend more time in prison. in 2004, albert antonelli slammed into a police cruiser in annapolis. he served three years in prison on that conviction and was released, but now he has been ordered back to prison for reportedly violating probation on drug charges. here is sarah caldwell and traffic pulse 11. . >> not exactly an ideal start out there. we have one westbound on 100 blocking the ramp to i-95. watch for delays developing there. this one is clearing an energy parkway. never crash creating big backups on the inner loop of the east side. the backups extend prior to pulaski highway. in rosedale, another accident we're tracking. we have some delays out of the northeast and on the north side towards providence. let's give you a live view of traffic. we will show you what it looks like out of the northeast. adding to these delays, the accident on the inner loop east side. chesaco avenue, that is what it looks like to the accident scene. ava as a check on the forecast. >

. the baltimore city police department gathered friday to honor an officer who died while on duty. funeral services for officer forest taylor were held at that time cathedral of mary our queen. officer taylor was in route to a call when his cruiser collided with another vehicle back in february. he died last week from his injuries. >> he's a testament and example of really what it takes to have a dedicated long career. 17 years doing all those difficult assignments. he is the example of commitment. >> officer taylor was laid to rest in his home town of annapolis. he leaves behind a wife and two children. the co-founder of h&s bakery has passed away. called a pillar of the greek community, tsakalos opened h&s in 1943, the h standing for harry, the s for steve fp bread was made by hand and delivered personally. h&s bakery has grown into one of the largest bakeries on the east coast. it's still family owned and operated. harry tsakalos was >> humid in the 70s this morning. there are some stormy conditions out west. a cold front coming in. that front will help, too, this afternoon and this eve

after watching a baseball game in baltimore. he was thrown 30 feet in the air on impact and scraped along another 20 feet on the pavement after he hit the ground. i ran to his side and held him and called his name, but he was limp and still, without breath or pulse. his eyes were open with the empty stare of death, and we prayed, the two of us, there in the gutter, with only my voice. his injuries, inside and out, were massive, and for terrible days he lingered between life and death. tipper and i spent the next thirty days and nights at his bedside. our family was lifted and healed, in no small measure by the love, compassion and prayers of thousands of people, most of whom we never even knew. albert is plenty brave and strong, and with the support of three wonderful sisters-- karenna, kristin, and sarah-- and two loving parents who helped him with his exercises every morning and prayed for him every night, he pulled through. and now, thank god, he has fully recovered, and he runs and plays and torments his older sisters like any little boy.
